Welcome to TaskGuru.co.uk (“TaskGuru”, “we”, “our”, “us”). TaskGuru is an online platform operated by SeekAServe Limited that connects homeowners and clients (“Users” or “Customers”) with verified tradespeople and service providers (“Trades”, “Service Providers”, or “Contractors”) across the United Kingdom.
By accessing or using TaskGuru, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
Definitions
Client - An individual or business that registers on the Platform to procure services from Contractors.
Contractor - A trade professional or service provider who registers to offer services in the course of their business.
Services - Tasks, deliverables, or work performed by Contractors for Clients.
Platform - The TaskGuru website, applications, and related online services operated by SeekAServe Limited.
Content - Any materials uploaded or submitted by Users, including text, images, and data.
Platform Use
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts under UK law. Contractors must operate lawfully and comply with all applicable trade, safety, and licensing regulations.
Account Registration
Users must register with accurate and up-to-date information and maintain the confidentiality of their login details. You are responsible for all activity conducted under your account.
TaskGuru may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
Verification of Trades
Required Documents
Contractors may be required to provide identification, proof of address, qualifications, certifications, or insurance documents.
Verification Disclaimer
TaskGuru performs reasonable but limited checks and does not guarantee workmanship quality, financial stability, insurance validity, or suitability of contractors, so clients must carry out their own due diligence before hiring.
Listings and Content
Contractors are responsible for ensuring that all information in their listings is accurate, lawful, and compliant with UK advertising and intellectual property standards.
TaskGuru may edit, remove, or refuse content that breaches these Terms or applicable laws.
User Obligations
Client Obligations
Clients must provide accurate service requirements, communicate promptly, act in good faith, and not solicit contractors to work outside the platform during the promotional period.
Contractor Obligations
Contractors confirm that they:
Are qualified and insured to perform their Services
Operate in the course of business
Will deliver work to a professional standard
Will follow all safety and regulatory requirements
Services
Contractors list their Services with pricing, timelines, and deliverables. When a Client engages a Contractor, a direct contract is formed between the Client and Contractor.
TaskGuru is not a party to service agreements and serves only as a marketplace facilitator.
Fees and Payment
Free Access Period
(a) All Users may access the Platform free of charge during a six (6)-month promotional period starting from the official launch date.
(b) No subscription or platform fees apply during this time.
Subscription Model (After Free Period)
(a) After the promotional period, Contractors must maintain an active paid subscription to access job leads and premium features.
(b) Clients will remain free to use the Platform.
(c) Subscription fees are displayed on the Platform and subject to VAT.
(d) TaskGuru does not deduct commissions from Client-Contractor payments.
Payment Processing
(a) Subscription payments are processed securely through an authorised payment gateway (e.g., Stripe).
(b) Fees are payable in advance and non-refundable except as stated in Section 9.
(c) TaskGuru does not process payments for work performed between Clients and Contractors.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
Overview
This section applies to paid Contractor subscriptions.
Free Access Period
No fees are charged; refunds are not applicable.
Subscription Fees
Subscription fees are billed in advance (monthly or annually).
Fees are non-refundable once the billing period begins, except in cases of billing error or where required by law.
Business Use Only - No Cooling-Off Period
Contractor subscriptions are sold exclusively for business use.
By subscribing, Contractors confirm that they are acting in the course of their business.
Because this is a business-to-business (B2B) transaction, the statutory 14-day consumer cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
Cancellations
(a) Contractors may cancel anytime through their account settings.
(b) Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
(c) No partial refunds are issued for unused time unless required by law.
Payment Disputes
(a) Payment errors or duplicate charges must be reported within 7 days.
(b) Verified errors will be refunded within 10 business days.
Non-Subscription Transactions
TaskGuru does not process payments between Clients and Contractors. Disputes over such payments must be resolved directly between those parties.
Refund Method
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5-10 business days.
Reviews and Feedback
Clients may leave reviews only after genuine use of a Contractor’s services. Reviews must be truthful and respectful.
TaskGuru may remove or moderate reviews that violate these Terms or UK law.
Intellectual Property
Users retain ownership of their uploaded content.
By submitting content, Users grant TaskGuru a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use and display the content for Platform operation and promotion.
Contractors grant Clients a perpetual, worldwide licence to use deliverables once full payment for the Services is made.
Confidentiality
“Confidential Information” means non-public information shared through the Platform.
Users must not disclose such information without written consent.
These obligations survive termination for three (3) years.
Privacy and Data Protection
All personal data is processed in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.

Liability and Indemnification
TaskGuru is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We make no warranties regarding platform availability or suitability.
Users agree to indemnify TaskGuru against any claims arising from breach of these terms, misuse of the platform, or conduct between clients and contractors.
TaskGuru is not liable for contractor performance, service quality, or losses incurred from client-contractor agreements.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes relating to these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Termination
TaskGuru may suspend or terminate accounts for breaches of these Terms or any unlawful activity.
Users may terminate their account or service engagements through the Platform.
Governing Law
These Terms and related non-contractual obligations are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Amendments
We may update these Terms at any time.
Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
